Meet: Photographer Ditte Isager

by GenCept | August 12, 2010

Hey folks, welcome to our new installment of posts. Each week we'll introduce you to a new artist, either up-and-coming or professional in the field. This week I'd like you to meet Ditte Isager. Ditte is a photographer who has recently caught my attention. I discovered a couple of her pictures circulating around ffffound and after checking out the rest of her portfolio, I was instantly hooked...as I'm sure you will be too.

Born and raised in Copenhagen, she attended the Danish Technical School of Photography and Schiller studio and since 2006 has been living in New York City. Specialized in shooting interiors, personalities, lifestyle, and travel, her clients include Gourmet, Traveler, Domino, Martha Stewart, Gordon Ramsey and Fritz Hansen, among others.

Ditte describes her style as "simple nordic", working with contrast in materials, light, color, and objects. She claims to draw inspiration from the light in the Dutch masters, storytelling and effects from motion pictures, and the style, character and layers of New York. Her photos are crisp and elegant, and she manages to capture a certain mood that transports you right to the scene.

Say hello:
