Truncheon is a series of lamps designed by Commonwealth (Zoe Coombes and David Boira) for MatterMade consisting of a suspended tube light, an articulated task lamp and a freestanding tube that rests against a wall.

Avoiding unnecessary knobs or switches, the Truncheon adheres to its namesake, a simple compact stick form fashioned out of traditional materials and shaped by advanced digital technology. Resisting the demand to convert to compact fluorescent bulbs, the designers opted for energy-saving LED bulbs. (at Design Milk)
