Gallery Yeh at Seoul, Korea

by GenCept | July 01, 2010

I believe that galleries and museums are projects where architects can release all their imagination and creativity to show new ways of seeing and doing buildings. This project by Unsangdong Architects uses the Gallery Yeh to do exactly that, and they manage to show all the "lightness" we can get from concrete.

A fantastic building located in Seoul, Korea that is brilliant since its volume conception, internal areas composition to the material choices. The concept of "empty and full plans" with glass create what they call a "Skinscape", like a skin with some open parts where we can see other elements, creating combinations of skin and structure, skin and space, skin and glass and so on. We can not see much of the interiors, but the small parts that we see show that the space is wide and simple, giving the attention to the pieces in exhibition.
