The amazing F1 Yas Marina Circuit, in Abu Dhabi

by Fabiano's | November 04, 2009

I've been looking for great emotions for these last years when I watch some Formula 1 GP. Our Brazilian pilots are trying to bring that, of course never like our hero Ayrton Senna. But this last Sunday I stuck in front of TV, it was the time to the last F1 Grand Prix of 2009, and it was not the race that make me feel amazed, but the circuit and the building, it was in Abu Dhabi, something really terrific!

The Yas Marina Circuit is the venue for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The circuit was designed by Asymptone Architecture, and is situated on Yas Island, about 30 minutes from the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.

The project show us a new level of architecure for Grand Prix, integrating hotels and fun in one place. With elegant and futurist shapes it make us believe that architecture "almost" has no limit. The Yas Marina Circuit seems like a sculpture, with color lights at the night that became even more spectacular. The Asymptone bring various influences to make this building, from shapes associated with speed and movement to basis of ancient Islamic art and craft traditions.

“A perfect union and harmonious interplay between elegance and spectacle. The search here was inspired by what one could call the 'art' and poetics of motor racing, specifically Formula 1, coupled with the making of a place that celebrates Abu Dhabi as a cultural and technological tour de force.” Hani Rashid

Innovation. Beauty. Comfort. Whether a driver, a racing team or a spectator, Yas Marina Circuit has been designed to produce an unforgettable experience.
